FireSmart-Aligned Landscaping That Reduces Risk from Day One

The Foundation Layer of Property-Level Readiness

Why Defensive Landscaping Matters for Wildfire Resilience

Wildfire risk around the home is shaped by compounding landscape conditions: fuel buildup, spacing, debris, and how vegetation connects to structures.

Treeline Wildfire Defence focuses on reducing these ignition pathways while preserving the character of the property. Many homes already have well-maintained landscapes that simply need refinement to perform better in dry conditions.

Defensive landscaping is not about stripping a yard back. It is about guiding the landscape toward a lower-risk, more resilient condition using practical, FireSmart-aligned decisions.

Landscaping forms the foundation of effective property-level wildfire readiness, supporting everything that follows.

All recommendations are property-specific and developed through the Treeline assessment process. Scope and level of work are determined based on site conditions, risk profile and long-term maintenance goals.

Landscaping Service Tiers

TreeLine Wild Fire Defence offers four levels of vegetation management services designed for different lot sizes, terrain conditions and wildfire-risk profiles.

Ground-Guard

(0.25–0.5 acre - Entry-level vegetation reduction)

Ground-Guard provides essential vegetation reduction for smaller residential lots. TreeLine removes surface fuels, trims light growth and establishes foundational defensible space around structures.

Tier Features

  • Manual debris removal (leaves, needles, dead branches)
  • Pruning, thinning and brush-cutter work
  • Hand-tool vegetation removal
  • Basic defensible-space creation around structures
  • Removal of fine fuels around the home
  • Optional off-site biomass removal

(0.5–1 acre - Mid-size properties)

Brush-Sentinel increases the level of vegetation management with mechanical processing, selective FireSmart improvements and on-site recycling.

Tier Features

  • All of Ground Guard features

  • Mechanical chipping & debris processing

  • Shrub thinning & crown lifting

  • Selective FireSmart replanting

  • On-site mulch reuse (quality dependent)

(1–2 acres - Larger or complex properties)

Fuel-Scout is ideal for dense or challenging terrain.

TreeLine uses  manual techniques and heavy equipment mechanical clearing methods to establish safer, wider defensible zones.

Tier Features

  • All of Brush Sentinel features

  • Mechanical clearing (skid steer/mini-excavator)

  • Heavy limb removal & slope adjustments where required

  • Firebreak pathway creation

Eco-Guardian

(2+ acres — Large properties & interface zones)

Eco-Guardian delivers full-scale mechanical clearing and long-term vegetation strategy.

This tier incorporates environmental restoration, erosion control and native-species replanting.

Tier Features

  • All of Fuel Scout features

  • Multi-acre mechanical clearing

  • Biochar processing (where viable)

  • Native replanting & ecological restoration

  • Long-term management planning

What Defensive Landscaping Includes

All landscaping recommendations are property-specific and developed through the Treeline assessment process.
Scope and level of work are determined by vegetation conditions, terrain, structure proximity, and long-term maintenance goals.

Most properties benefit from a phased approach, beginning with the highest-priority ignition pathways and progressing toward long-term landscape resilience.
