Irrigation & Moisture Management

Moisture-aware irrigation planning that supports healthy vegetation, efficient water use and long-term wildfire resilience.

Why Moisture Management Matters for Wildfire Resilience

Water and plant health influence how a landscape performs through extended dry periods. Moisture-stressed vegetation accumulates dead material faster, increasing receptive fuels around the home

Treeline Wildfire Defence treats irrigation as a resilience tool, designed to support healthy vegetation and maintain FireSmart-aligned landscapes as conditions change.

Some properties need simple refinements to existing systems, while others benefit from structured moisture management across priority zones.

Irrigation supports wildfire readiness, but does not replace FireSmart landscaping decisions. All recommendations begin with a property-specific moisture and layout assessment.

All irrigation recommendations are property-specific and developed through the Treeline assessment process. Scope and level of work are determined based on site conditions, water supply, vegetation needs, and long-term maintenance goals.

Irrigation and Moisture Management Service Tiers

TreeLine Wild Fire Defence offers three levels of smart-irrigation services designed for different lot sizes, soil conditions and automation needs, from essential upgrades to advanced climate-responsive systems.

Hydra-Guard

(Entry-level smart-irrigation installation)

Hydra-Guard is ideal for smaller properties or clients seeking a reliable, FireSmart-aligned irrigation system built from the ground up.

This tier focuses on installing a clean, efficient base system designed for consistent coverage and simple automation.

Existing irrigation lines or heads can be incorporated if they are compatible and in good condition.

Tier Features

  • New smart-irrigation installation with efficient zone layout

  • Smart timers, rain sensing and seasonal programming

  • Basic land surveying for slope, drainage and water run-off

  • Integration of usable existing irrigation components where appropriate

  • Improved water efficiency

  • Best for small-lots or residential properties

(Mid-level installation with adaptive controls)

Soil-Sentinel provides a more advanced installation suited to medium-sized properties, mixed planting zones or terrain that benefits from adaptive, climate-responsive watering.

This tier includes deeper assessment of soil conditions, run-off patterns and local micro-climates.

Existing systems may be upgraded or incorporated if they support mid-level automation.

Tier Features

  • New irrigation system with zone-specific optimization
  • Weather-based scheduling using rainfall and moisture monitoring
  • Landscape surveying for elevation, grading and water run-off mapping
  • Integration with suppression water storage if applicable
  • Compatibility upgrades for existing irrigation where feasible
  • Ideal for medium-size properties or mixed vegetation zones

Climate-Guardian

(Advanced climate-responsive irrigation installation)

Climate-Guardian is TreeLine’s top-tier irrigation system designed for large, complex or high-value properties that require precise, climate-integrated irrigation for long-term vegetation resilience.

This tier uses TreeLine’s Integrated Control System, multiple sensor inputs and optional solar or battery power to ensure uninterrupted operation during extreme weather or fire-risk periods.

Existing irrigation may be partially reused if components meet the required performance level.

Tier Features

  • Full new installation with advanced climate-responsive controls
  • Multi-sensor network for zone-specific optimization
  • Real-time system monitoring and adaptive adjustment
  • Solar or battery-backed controllers for reliable operation during outages
  • Optional remote access and performance analytics
  • Integration of select existing system components when suitable
  • Best for large properties, estates or high-risk zones

What Irrigation & Moisture Management Supports

Often implemented following landscaping refinements as part of a coordinated property resilience plan.

All irrigation recommendations are property-specific and developed through the Treeline assessment process.
Scope is determined by vegetation needs, sun exposure, soil conditions, terrain, water supply and long-term maintenance goals.

Most properties benefit from phased improvements, beginning with priority vegetation zones and progressing toward coordinated moisture management across the landscape.
