About Treeline Wildfire Defence

Protect what you have built. Preserve what surrounds it.

Treeline Wildfire Defence provides practical, FireSmart-aligned landscaping, vegetation management, and irrigation-related property improvements for homeowners in the Sea to Sky. The goal is to help property owners understand priority risks around the home and turn them into clear, well-prioritized work that can be completed in stages or as a full-scope project.

A clearer starting point

Wildfire risk around a home is rarely one single issue. It is usually a combination of fuel, layout, access, maintenance, and how the property has changed over time.

The business was built to give homeowners a more structured starting point. Instead of moving straight into cleanup work without a clear order of priority, the process begins with the property itself: what is present now, what has already been recommended, and what will make the most practical difference.

Where available, Treeline strongly encourages an official free FireSmart assessment before quoted work begins. This helps establish a formal baseline for the improvements that follow.

Why this approach matters

Property work around wildfire risk can easily become unclear, overly broad, or poorly prioritised. The focus here is to give homeowners a clearer path forward: understand the site properly, identify the most important priorities first, and turn that into practical work that feels realistic to act on.

The person behind Treeline

Treeline Wildfire Defence is owned and operated by David Wood.

David brings a background in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, commissioning, and field-based problem solving. That background shapes the way property work is approached: structured, practical, and grounded in how things perform in the real world.

Alongside that technical background is hands-on outdoor experience, including heavy brush clearing and terrain-based project work. Earlier work building and maintaining downhill mountain bike tracks for regional/National races in the UK helped develop a practical understanding of steep ground, drainage awareness, vegetation clearing, and safe progress through difficult site conditions.

Today, that same professional drive is focused on helping homeowners make practical, well-prioritized property improvements informed by FireSmart principles.

Relevant training and background

That approach is supported by training in wildfire risk reduction, FireSmart-aligned landscaping, and irrigation system design, alongside a broader professional background that brings structure, care, and practical problem solving to property work.
